Possess Your Possessions

possess, possessions, Receive

Deuteronomy 7:17-18
“If thou shalt say in thine heart, These nations are more than I; how can I dispossess them? Thou shalt not be afraid of them but shalt well remember what the Lord thy God did unto Pharaoh, and unto all Egypt.”

When God gave Israel the land of promise, they were to go in and dispossess the inhabitants of the land and take possession.  God told them not to be afraid but to remember what He had done for them in Egypt and that He was among them a mighty and terrible God.  All Israel had to do was to believe what God said and take possession.

Galatians 3:13-14 says, “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us for it is written cursed is every on that hangeth on a tree.  That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith”.   Now if you believe that Christ came, died and rose again on the third day, there is only one thing lift for you to do, take possession.

When we remember what God has done for us through Christ, it builds up our faith and empowers us to lay hold on all that He has promised.   It empowers us to resist sickness, poverty, and death and receive health, prosperity and life.

Don’t allow the enemy to deceive you, He has been stripped by the blood, remember the cross and receive all that Christ died for you to have.

grace, praise, Thanks, Thanksgiving

Psalms 136:1
“Oh give thanks unto the Lord for He is good for His mercy endureth for ever.”

When we give thanks unto God for His goodness and His mercy.  It releases to us more of His goodness and more of His mercy.

Giving thanks to God in spite of your circumstance says God you are in control of my life.   You are the Creator and Maker of all things and it’s in your power to change my situation.  Thanking God says God you’ve done it before and you can do it again.  And even if my problems didn’t exist, You are good.

Remember the ten lepers it was the one that turned to give thanks that receive more grace  (Luke 17:11-19).  Hear what Jesus said, “And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way; thy faith hath made the whole.”  The other nine were cleansed but the one was made whole.

The fact that the one was a Samaritan says a lot.  He wasn’t so much concern with being cleansed according to the law, his focus was on the one who had given him grace.  When he saw that he was healed he turned back and with a loud voice glorified God and was made whole.

The Fire Of Evangelism

evangelism, gospel, love

Mark 16:15
“And He said unto them, go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”

Jesus come to this world to fulfill the will of His Father which was to reconcile man back to God.  It was God’s love for man that caused Him to give up His Son to die and it was the love of His Father that caused the Son to give up his life.  John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but shall have everlasting life.”

When the Son of God looked at his Father He received His Father’s passion.  Hebrews 10:6-7 says, “In burnt-offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.  Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will , O God.”  What is His passion?  That all would be saved and none be lost.

When Jesus appeared to the disciples on the Emmaus road beginning at Moses and all the prophets He expounded unto them in all the scriptures  the things concerning Himself (Luke 24:27-35).  And as He brake bread with them their eyes were opened and they knew Him.  “And they said one to another, did not our heart burn within us while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?  What happened?  As they saw Him in the Word they received His love and His passion.  It was his love that burned within them.  The scripture goes on to say that they got up that same hour and returned to Jerusalem, found the eleven and others gathered with them “saying, the Lord is risen indeed and hath appeared to Simon” (Luke 24:32-34).

It was seeing Jesus in the Word or seeing the love of God in the Word that ignited them with that same love and passion that they got up in the middle of the night to go and tell the good news that The Lord Is Risen Indeed.  This my friends is the fire of evangelism.

When we see Jesus, when we see the love of God it will ignite us to go into places unknown and confront people we don’t know, and move out of our comfort zone, to fulfill His commandment to “Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature.”

It’s Working For You

afflictions, glory, grace, help

2 Corinthians 4:17
“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.”

The afflictions we face in life  cannot change our destinies, our destinies are determined by God  and since we know that God never changes, we can rest assure that no matter what we go through in life, at the end of the day it’s what God has predestined for our lives that will stand.   All we have to do is follow the leading of the Holy Spirit and we will end up in the place that God has ordained for our lives.

Paul describes afflictions as light and but for a moment; most of us would not agree with Paul.  When we are face with adversities we view them as the worst thing that has ever happened in the history of man and one moment like an eternity.   Paul could describe our afflictions as light and but for a moment because he was comparing them to the eternal glory of God.   God’s glory will always outweigh anything that we face in life.

The scripture says our afflictions worketh for us a far more exceeding weigh of glory.  How is that possible? God doesn’t bring afflictions upon us to show us his glory; but in the midst of  our afflictions, what the enemy does for evil, God’s glory is revealed.

When the children of Israel were being afflicted by Pharoah, God  said “…I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters for I know their sorrows and I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey…” (Exodus 3:7-8).  In the midst of their afflictions, God’s glory was revealed.

The greater the afflictions the greater the glory; the greater the glory, the lighter the afflictions. In other words, on God’s side “when the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord lifts up a standard against him” (Isa. 59:19).  On our side, when we look not at the things that are seen but at the things that are not seen, what  is seen becomes light and but for a moment (2 Cor. 4:18).  Psalms 34:19, “many are the afflictions of the righteous; but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.”

His Death, His Life

crucified, death, life, living

2 Corinthians 4:10
“Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.”

To have the life of Christ manifested in our bodies, we must  have his death.  Christ died so that we could have His life in us, but if we don’t account ourselves to be dead indeed to sin, we will never live unto God (Romans 6:11).

Hebrews 10:10 says, “by the which we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.”  This means that we are already dead and we need not die anymore, we just need to realize that we are already dead.  If we keep thinking that we have to die we will never walk in His life.  It’s only after we account ourselves to be dead with Christ that His life will be manifested in us.

Paul says it well in Galatians 2:20, “I am crucified with Christ nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”  It’s His death and His life.  Stop trying to die, you are already dead.  Live.

Grace For Faith

20 Tuesday Jul 2010

faith, grace

Imagine you are standing with your back toward someone and they tell you to fall back into their arms. You can’t see what they are doing, you don’t know if they have their arms out to catch you but you allow yourself to fall back into their arms. Why do you do it? You do it because you know that they have the ability to catch you and you believe that they will not allow you to get hurt. I mean, if you know that they can’t catch you or they wanted to hurt you, you wouldn’t let go. This is how faith works.

When we see God’s ability to fulfill our need and we understand that he gave us his best because he only wants the best for us we will let go and fall into his arms and trust Him. But we must first see Him in His grace.

Take the feeding of the five thousand (Matt. 14:15-21). They were in a desert place with no food and not enough money to buy food. He took a little boys lunch consisting of two fish and five loaves of bread blessed it, brake it, gave it and multiplied it. So much so that there were twelve baskets left over.

You may be looking at what you have and saying it’s not enough to pay the bills, that’s what the disciples said. But instead of looking at what you have, see Jesus. See how he took what was so little to man and blessed it, brake it , gave it and multiplied it. When you see him in his grace it releases His faith in you to fall back in His arms and let Him catch you. Remember God gave us his best to give us his best.

Maybe you don’t have anything not even a little for God to bless and multiply. His grace is sufficient. When those that collected tax money for Ceasar came to collect from Jesus, He told Peter to go to the sea and go fishing (Matt. 17:24-27). Jesus told Peter the first fish that he caught would have the money for the taxes in his mouth. Now we know that Jesus had a treasurer, Judas was his name and he would also betray Him. Jesus could have told Peter to go get the money from Judas. But I believe that Jesus wanted us to see that He only is our supply and He knows how to get what we need to us. He didn’t have to take out of what was there to meet the need. He could meet the need even when there is nothing because all things belong to him and He knows how to get what we need to us.

Don’t see what you don’t have, see what He has, see how He took care of the tax money out of nothing. See how He caused the ravens to feed Elijah, when Elijah had nothing (I kings 17:4), see how He healed the woman with the issue of blood when the doctors could do nothing (Luke 8:43-48). Don’t look at what you don’t have or how little it is, or how big the need is, look at Jesus in His grace and it will release in you His faith to fall back in His arms and trust Him.

Father Remember

grace, rememberance

Isaiah 43:26
“Put me in remembrance; let us plead together; declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.”

What a privilege we have to be able to remind God and declare to him what he has done for us.  God is all knowing so it’s not that he doesn’t know, therefore I believe that our reminding him is not so much for his benefit as it is for ours.

When God told Hezekiah to set his house in order because he was about to die, Hezekiah turned his faced to the wall and began to remind God of how he walked before him in truth and with a perfect heart and had done that which was good in his sight.  God heard him and added fifteen years to his life (2 Kings 20:1-11).

Hezekiah brought up all that he had done before God because under the old covenant the blessing was released based on man’s ability to keep the law (I guess Hezekiah thought he did a pretty good job of it. Thank God for mercy and grace). However, after Hezekiah recovered he didn’t give glory to God for his healing.  2 Chronicles 32:25 says, “But Hezekiah rendered not again according to the benefit done unto him; for his heart was lifted up; therefore there was wrath upon him, and upon Judah and Jerusalem.”

Today, when we put God in remembrance, when we plead together and declare unto Him, it’s all about what He has done for us through His Son, Jesus Christ.  Because it’s not by our works lest we would boast just as Hezekiah did but it is the gift of God, Jesus Christ (Eph 2:8-9).

Whatever you may be facing in your body, finances, or home, put God in remembrance of the finish work of Calvary.  Make your case with God based on what Jesus Christ has done for you and not on what you’ve done.  In doing so grace is released for your situation, God is glorified in His Son and Christ is glorified in you.

Faith Acts On The Word

Action, faith

Luke 5:4
Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.

Faiths acts on the Word of God.  If we say we have faith and are unable to act on what God says, then we don’t have faith because faith acts on what God says.

Many people say they have faith but they never move in the direction of their faith.  They say they believe but they just sit there waiting for something to happen or for something to fall out of the sky for them.  They never get up and move in the direction of what they say they are believing God to do.  They really are not believing at all because faith empowers us to act on what God says is done.

Faith is right now, present tense, it believe that it receives right now.  Faith is Christ in us because  “faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God” (Rom. 10:17).  We hear of Christ in his grace and we receive his faith to act on what he says is done.  I say done because all that the Word of God says is already accomplished for us.  The Word of God says that “by whose stripes ye were healed” (I Peter 2:24) if you believe this you will began to do with your body what you couldn’t do before.  In other words you would move in the direction of your faith.

When Jesus told Peter to launch out into the deep, even though Peter doubted he didn’t allow that doubt to stop him from acting on what Jesus said.  For he said, “..,”we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net” (Luke 5:5).  Peter’s acting on the Word brought him the harvest of fish.

Faith comes from the Word of God and Jesus Christ is the Word, therefore, Christ in us empowers us to act on what God says is done.

Ask And Receive

Ask, prayer, Receive, Results

Mark 11:24
“Therefore I say unto you, what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”

There is no middle ground between asking and receiving when we ask we receive.  I know that many of you might say that waiting is the middle ground; we ask, wait for it to happen and then receive.  But that is not what the scripture says, the scriptures says “…what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”

Our receiving what we ask for is based on what God has done through Christ.  Romans 8:32 :He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?”  God has freely given us all things through Christ.  Our receiving is based on the finished work of Calvary.

Jesus said, “And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you” (John 16:23).  Whatever we ask the Father in Jesus name he gives it to us because Jesus has meant all the righteous requirements of the law for us, gave us access into presence of God, and made us joint-heirs with him of all things.

When we ask the Father in Jesus name we receive because the Father has  given us all things through Christ.

Dream Big

desire, dream, Plans, Purpose

Psalms 20:4-5
“Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel.  We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners; the Lord fulfil all thy petitions.”

Dream big because there is nothing that God can’t and won’t do for his children.  As a matter of fact he is the one who  gives us the desires of our heart as we mediate upon him and all  he wants us to do is to take those desires and expand them.

God needs our dreams to fulfil. He has given man dominion in the earth he has limited himself to work through and with man.  He will not pass man’s will.  Therefore, God needs man to want what he wants.  This is why he places his desires for man in man’s heart so that he can fulfil those desires and ultimately his will be accomplished in the earth realm.   It God’s part to fulfil our part to dream.

Look at Joseph he had dreams concerning his future and the future of his family (Gen 37:5-10).  There was nothing that Joseph could do to fulfil his dream, it was God who fulfiled Joseph’s dreams and accomplished his purposed for his people.

God is well able to accomplish any dream or desire that he gives us.  So don’t limit him go for the gusto, be extravagant and dream big.
