Know The Truth And Live Free!

Bondage, free, Freedom, Jesus, Jesus is Truth, Know Truth, Poverty, Truth

John 8:31-32

“The said Jesus to those Jews which believed on Him, if ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the Truth, and the Truth shall make you free.”

When we are born again we are set free.  However we must learn how to walk in that liberty.  For example, if a man has been in prison all his and is set free when he is old all he would know is prison life.  He would get up in the morning at the time he did when he was in prison, he would eat at the time he did in prison, his whole thinking and way of doing things would be geared toward what he knew and did when he was in prison.  He would be a free man but living as though he was still in bondage.

Likewise when we come to Christ we are set free but are minds must be renew so that our life reflects our new status, free (Eph 4:23).  Jesus tells the Jews that believed on Him this very thing.   In order for them to live out their freedom they had to continue in His word and they would know the Truth and the Truth would make them free.  Who is the Truth?  Jesus Christ is the Truth and as we continue in His word and allow the Holy Spirit to give us revelation of Him, what He reveals will change what we  think and what we think will change what we do.  Thus breaking the bondage of what we used to know and how we used to act.  We are now walking in the liberty wherewith Christ has set us free (Gal. 5:1).  What Christ has done has become an experience in our lives.

The revelation of the Truth sets us free in every area of our lives.  Poverty is bondage, Jesus has set us free from all bondage including poverty.  “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that ye through His poverty might be rich” (2 Cor. 8:9).  As we look into this word and gaze upon it what we see is that the Son of God left His home in glory, put on what He created, and was stripped of all that He had in this earthly realm (Phil 2:5-8).  There is no level of poverty He did not take upon Himself on the cross.  He was hungry, thirsty, naked and homeless so that you and I would never be hungry, thirsty, naked or homeless.  It’s this revelation that sets us free from a poverty mentally, and as our minds are renewed our lives come into alignment with what we think “for as he thinketh in his heart so is he…” (Provb 23:7).

Knowing the Truth causes us to walk in power and reign in life.

The Mighty Power Of God!

Ephesians 1:19-21

“And what is the exceeding greatness of His power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of His mighty power.  Which He wrought in Christ when He raised Him from the dead, and set Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come.”

The greatest demonstration of the power of God was when God raised Jesus from the dead and although all hell was against Him Jesus rose victorious!

Now the same measure of power that God used when raising Jesus from the dead (which was the greatest demonstration of His power) is working in you.  No wonder the gates of hell can’t prevail against us (Matt. 16:18).  The power that lifted Jesus up from the dead is the same power that lifts us up from among the dead. The power of resurrection is present in us to lift us up and cause us to live!

Therefore, no matter what you’re going through right now, boldly declare “I shall not die, but live and declare the works of the Lord (Psa. 118:17)” because the power of resurrection is lifting you up.  Remember all hell was against God but all hell couldn’t keep Jesus down and nothing that hell brings your way can keep you down.  There is too much power at work in you for you to die. Romans 8:36-27 says, “…For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.  Nay in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.” No matter what we live and we live victoriously!

God’s Already Done It And You Already Have It!

Ephesians 1:3

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.”

God gave us everything that we will ever need when He gave us Jesus.  We just need to realize that we already have it!

Truly, I mean everything, healing, deliverance, love, joy, peace, prosperity, if it has a name and you need it God has already supplied it through Christ in you.  However, as long as you think that you have to obtain those things they will remain unattainable.

God is not going to do anything else, He has done His part and Jesus has done His part but we just keep asking God to do what He has already done.  While we’re crying and begging God to prosper us, to heal us , to deliver us, God is saying okay I’ve already done it!  The scripture says, who “HATH blessed us with all spiritual blessings.”  It took me a while to get it but I’ve got “hath” means it’s already done.  Listen,  I’m not that smart if I can get so can you.  God has already blessed us with everything we need through Christ Jesus.

In Ephesians 1:17-18 Paul is praying for the church and he prays, “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him.  The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints.” Notice Paul is not asking God to give them anything is praying that they would recognize what they already have in Christ.

Now that you know that God has already done His part and Jesus has done His part and that you already have what you need, it’s time to change your way of thinking.  See yourself as having all, as being blessed with all spiritual blessings in Christ.  No longer do you have to cry “Oh Lord prosper me” you can now cry “Oh Lord I thank you that you have already prospered me through Christ and I receive now.”

Let Peace Rule!

Bliss, Blissful, Calm, peace, Peaceful, rest, restful

Colossians 3:15

“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.”

Jesus knew that we would be faced with tribulations, persecutions and trouble so He gave us His peace. John 14:27 says “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you; not as the world giveth, give I unto you.  Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”  Peace is what we need to stand in the midst of adverse circumstances.  Notice Jesus said “my peace I give to you” we have the same peace that Jesus had.  When the Jews sought to stone Jesus He wasn’t afraid, He had peace. Peace that allowed Him to walk through the midst of them and not be seen (John 8:59).  Again, when Jesus was persecuted in the synagogue and the people rose up and thrust Him out of their city and led Him to a hill where they wanted to cast Him down headlong, He wasn’t afraid, His peace allowed Him to pass through the midst of them and go His way (Luke 4:29). Even when He was in the boat with His disciples and a storm arose, He was able to sleep because He had peace.  It was that peace that He spoke to the wind and the waves and said “Peace be still” (Mark 4:39) and it’s that peace that He has given to us.

Look at the three Hebrew boys, when they were cast into the fiery furnace they believed in God.  They believed that God would deliver them out.  They weren’t trouble or perplexed they had the peace of God.  They said, “…O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter (Daniel 3:16).  Now does that sound like someone afraid?  I don’t think so their belief in God was their peace.

If you believe  in Jesus you have the peace of God.   The same way Jesus walked through angry mobs and sleep through a raging storm, you will rise above every adverse circumstance in your life if you let the peace not trouble rule in your heart. John 14:1, “Let not your heart be trouble ye believe in God, believe also in me.” Rest in peace! The peace that Jesus gives.

Dress Yourself Up In Praise!

hair, inner beauty, Jesus, makeup, outer beauty, praise, praises

Psalms 33:1

“Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous; for praise is comely for the upright.”

Everyone wants to look good because it makes us feel good when we look good.  This is why most people will  go to any lengths to look their best.   We especially want our hair and face to look good because we think, if our head looks good, we look good.

However, we could spend hours on our hair and face and still look as though we’ve never done a thing.  The reason is that what’s on the inside affects what’s on the outside.  If you don’t have a praise on the inside it doesn’t matter what you look like on the outside, you still won’t look your best.   But if you have Jesus on the inside you have a praise on the inside.

Therefore,  if you really want to look good here’s how.   Open your mouth and  give God the praise.  The scripture says that praise is comely or becoming for the upright.  In other words, it makes you look good.  Your praise to God causes the light of God within you to shine brightly upon your face.  And it doesn’t matter what you have on, or whether or not you combed your hair (which you should) or whether or not you put on make up YOU LOOK GOOD, because praise is becoming on you.  So stand up, throw your hands up and give God your best praise today!  Now, you’re looking like and heir of the world.

You Are Complete In Christ!

better, complete, completeness, grace, Jesus, rest, restful, wholeness

Colossians 2:9-10

“For in Him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.  And ye are complete in Him, which is the head of all principality and power.”

Completeness is nothing missing and nothing broken it’s wholeness. In Jesus Christ dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead. In Jesus Christ there is completeness, there is nothing missing , nothing broken.  All knowledge, all wisdom and all power is in Him.  All that there is or was and ever will be was created by Him and He is Lord over all. “For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions or principalities, or powers; all things were created by Him and for Him.  And He is before all things and by Him all things consist” (Colossians 1:16-17).

In all that He is and in all His completeness, He lives in us and we live in Him.  Therefore, we can boldly say we have nothing missing and nothing broken we are complete in Him.  Now, I know you might be thinking, “how can I be complete when I lacking?”  Well you are.   If the creator of all things is living in you and you live in Him that makes you complete because the source of all things lives in you.  All you need to do is to see yourself as having all things, nothing missing, nothing broken.

After God created Adam He saw that it wasn’t good that Adam be alone and He said, “…I will make a help meet for him” (Gen. 2:18).  “And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof and the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made He a woman, and brought her unto the man” (Gen. 2:21-22).   The grace that Adam needed was already in him, what Adam needed was taken from within him.  But it didn’t  come out until Adam was resting.

Likewise, the grace that you need is already in you because Jesus Christ is in you and you are in Him you are complete you have nothing missing and nothing broken.  God sees you as complete, He sees you as  having all that you’ll ever need to be successful and accomplish your purpose in life.  Rest in the completeness of Christ in you today because when you are resting the grace that is in you, will come out of you.

Don’t Worry Be Thankful!

anxiety, blessed, choice, choose, stress, thankfulness, worry anxiousness

Philippians 4:6-7

“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

In a day when stress is among the top causes of early death, it would do us good to know how to avoid it if we want to live long and strong.Paul gives us the antidote in the above scripture, be careful or anxious for nothing.  That’s it.  It really doesn’t get more simpler than that, just don’t worry.  We have the power to worry or not to worry the choice is ours.  So if you don’t want to die an early death you’ll choose not to worry.  Deuteronomy 30:19 Moses is warning the children of Israel and he says, “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.”  You choose whether to live or die.

When you make the choose not to worry, you are releasing the outcome of the situation.  In other words you no longer concern yourself with will I have enough money to pay the mortgage this month, or will they cut my lights of today, or will this disease kill me.  You release the outcome to the hands of God.  The scripture says, “but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known unto God.”   By taking every thing, to Jesus,  you are releasing it.  1 Peter 5:7  says, “Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.”

Now, as you release your care to Jesus, your thanksgiving releases Him to take care of the care.  The more you thank Him, the more grace you are receiving from Him. Here’s why, the grace of God is a gift and when you receive a gift you say thank you.  Thanksgiving is our way of letting God know that we receive His gift.  We receive His grace for our cares.  As we do, the peace of God, who is Jesus Christ garrisons and guards our heart and minds so that the thoughts of worry and frustration find no resting place in us.  Therefore, choose not to worry and be thankful instead!

Power To Live!

death, dying, gave, giving, life, love, mediate, power, revelation

2 Corinthians 4:10

“Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.”

When we receive Christ we receive His death for our life and we receive His Spirit into our reborn spirits.  And His life is there in us in for us to use to live.  We don’t just receive His life for our salvation and then put Him on the shelf in our hearts, behind glass doors and keep Him clean and dusted off as we would a trophy.  No, His life is for us to live!  The life of Christ is power!   1 Corinthians 1:24 says “…Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.”  Power is the ability to act, it’s God’s supernatural, miracle working ability. It’s the same power that God used when He raised Jesus from the dead (Eph.1:19-20).   His life is power to live!

Likewise the same way His life is power to live, His death is power to destroy.  In His death He destroyed principalities and powers and made a show of them openly triumphing over them in it (Col. 2:14-15).  In His death He destroyed the body of sin that we should no longer be servants to sin (Rom. 6:6).  In His death He redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us (Gal. 3:13).  And in His death He took all of our sicknesses and diseases and by His stripes we were healed (1 Pet. 2:24).  We received His death before we received His life.

Therefore, it is the revelation of the cross in us, what was accomplished for us through the dying of our Lord Jesus that releases the life of our Lord Jesus in us.  Galatians 2:20, “I am crucified with Christ nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”  Now, that my friends is Power!

Success Is Given

Joshua 1:8″

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein; for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”

Success is not something we gain, success is something we’ve been given.

However, does this mean that we don’t do anything?  No, of course not.  This means that God is letting us know the ending from the beginning.  This means that whatever God has told you to do, He has promised you success in doing it.  This is why we don’t give up because success has already been given.  It would be unjust for God to tell us to do something knowing that we might fail.  Imagine Jesus saying “lay hands on the sick and they might recover and they might not.”  Do you think the disciples  would have wanted to lay hands on the sick if they knew there was a possibility of the sick not recovering? Would you?   No, Jesus said “…they shall lay hands on the sick, and they SHALL recover” (Mark 16:18).  God tells us to do a thing, gives us the ability to do it and guarantees our success in doing it.

After Moses’s death Joshua was afraid and he lacked the courage he needed to lead the people of Israel over into their promise land.  However, God reassured Joshua by saying “there shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee; I will not fail thee nor forsake thee. Be strong and of a good courage for unto this people shalt thou divde for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them” (Joshua 1:5-6).  God told Joshua what to do, gave him the ability to do it and guaranteed his success.

The world works to get success, we work because we’ve been given success.   Even when it looks like you’re not succeeding, maybe a door has closed, or maybe you were going in a direction and you’ve had to change course and start in a another, God is with you.  He told Joshua “…for the lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest” (Joshua 1:9).  Because  He has guaranteed you success He is leading and guiding you into that success.

God gave us success when He gave us Jesus for without Him we can do nothing (John 15:5).

Think Of The Father’s Love

06 Wednesday Oct 2010

compassion, God, help, Jesus, love, mediate, strength, think

John 3:16

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

Whenever I am faced with a situation or circumstance in life that could cause me to feel down I think of the Father’s love for me.  And as I mediate on His love for me, it releases in me His strength.

In the natural when you know that someone loves you, you know that that person has your back.  You know that you can call on them anytime and they will do whatever they can do to help you because they love you. Well, how much more our heavenly Father?  Isaiah 49:15-16 says, “Can a women forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. Behold I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.”

However, the enemy doesn’t want you to think on God’s love for you, he wants you to think that you are all alone and nobody cares and God loves everybody but you.  He knows that if he can get you to think like that he can get you to feel like that.  His plan is to drain you of your strength and make you feel weak and hopeless.  Your thinking affects how you feel.  Change your thinking and change how you feel.

Instead mediate on the love God has for you.  Think of how God loved you so much  He gave you His Son as surety that every term of the new covenant will be fulfilled in your life (Heb 7:22).  Think of how it please the Father to bruise His Son to save you (Isa 53:10).  Hear his voice saying I love you so much that I given you my only begotten Son.
