II Chronicles 20:12

“O our God, wilt thou not judge them? For we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do; but our eyes are upon thee.”

There is no better place to be than to be in a place where you know that there is nothing that you, or anybody or anything on earth can do to deliver you; a place where you are totally looking to God to fill your needs and desires.

However, in order to get to this place you must first come to the realization that salvation is not in man’s hands.  Salvation can only be found in Jesus and Jesus alone.  Psalms 3:8 says “Salvation belongeth unto the Lord; thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah”

Look at how young eagles look to their mother for their substance, their heads are lifted up towards her expecting a meal for the day. They know that she alone has what they need and desire.  They are unable to gather for themselves.  They don’t have the skills as yet.  So they are totally dependent upon her to supply.  Likewise, as we come to know, not just with head knowledge, but when we really see Jesus as our source and resource, we will no longer look to our jobs, our government, our spouses or other people to fill our needs and desires. But our heads will be lifted up “looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of your faith…” (Heb 12:2).

But this is a place that is easy to slip out of it takes a daily positioning of one’s self.  Daily seeing Jesus as the only one in whose hands is your salvation.  For example, when you are receiving a check twice a month it can be easier to see that job as your source and instead of looking to Jesus to pay your bill and feed your family you are depending upon that check. We must position ourselves daily to see Jesus afresh everyday as the only one in whose hands is our salvation. Luke 11:3 “Give us day by day our daily bread.”

Child of God it comes down to this, when you look to Jesus what you will see is one who has all the ability, power and resource to meet your every need and to fulfill your every desire.  Like the mother eagle He’s waiting for you to open up so He can pour out from Himself into your life.
