God's desire to be known, Revealed, revelation, To be known, To know Him, To see Him

I Corinthians 13:12

“For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face; now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.”

More than you want to know God, God wants to be known of you.  He wants to reveal Himself to you more than you seek to see Him.

Since the beginning of man’s existence God has reveal Himself to man.  In the Garden of Eden God didn’t hide Himself from Adam, He came down in the cool of the day and communed with Adam.  Even after Adam sinned and was cast out of the Garden of Eden, it was God who sought him out and revealed Himself to them as the God one who covers and provides.

All of the sacrifices’ of the Old Testament were examples and types of God’s desire to be known of man. Why? Because they all point to Christ and Christ is God revealed.

Paul said in Philippians 3:10 “that I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His suffering, being made conformable unto His death.” I believe Paul’s saw how much God wanted to be known of him which made him want to know God all the more.  Paul was willing to count everything else in life as dung because something greater was beckoning him God’s desire to be known.

Often God would tell Israel that He would do a thing in them so that they would know Him. Likewise, God does things in our lives so that we may know Him.  But remember He wants to be known more than we want to know.  Therefore, more than you want Him to provide He wants to provide.  More than you want Him to heal, He wants to heal.  More than you want Him to prosper you, He wants to prosper you.  God’s desire to reveal Himself is greater than our desire to see Him.  All it takes is a heart that’s willing to seek Him.  Paul wasn’t just talking about the hereafter when he said “now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face…” he was talking about now, when we seek Him, He will reveal Himself to us and we would know Him even as He knows us.

Are you seeking to know God more?  If so, know that God wants to reveal Himself to you more than you could ever want to know.
