Romans 8:15 “For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba Father.”

When Jesus died on the cross for us He not only made a way for us to become sons and daughters of God but He also adopted us or positioned us adult sons and daughters.

Paul says in Galatians 4:1, “Now I say, that the heir as long as he is a child differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all.” In other words, if we had remained as mere children we would not be able to lay hold on all that we have inherited as joint-heirs with Christ. It means that what Christ has would be ours but we would have to wait to come of age to get it. But being the Father that He is He wanted us to freely take and receive all that He died for us to have right now, at the moment we receive Jesus as Lord of our lives.

Look at the story of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32), the father gave them both their inheritance, the younger son spent His, and the elder son got angry when the father received him home and dressed him and threw him a party. The elder son tells his father, I’ve been with you all this time and have done all that you’ve asked but you never threw me a party. The father says to him “…Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine” (Luke 15:31).

The elder son could have done whatever he wanted to do with what was rightfully his because he was an adult son. He was at the age whereby he could receive his inheritance but instead he held on to a child mentality. He was waiting for his father to give to him what was already given.

I Corinthians 13:11, says “when I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.”

Child of God, don’t allow the enemy to deceive you for enjoying your inheritance right now. You don’t have to wait until you get to heaven to enjoy your inheritance. You have been placed as adult Sons and daughters of God and through Christ have been made heirs of all things now and in the life to come.

Think Of The Father’s Love

John 3:16

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

Whenever I am faced with a situation or circumstance in life that could cause me to feel down I think of the Father’s love for me.  And as I mediate on His love for me, it releases in me His strength.

In the natural when you know that someone loves you, you know that that person has your back.  You know that you can call on them anytime and they will do whatever they can do to help you because they love you. Well, how much more our heavenly Father?  Isaiah 49:15-16 says, “Can a women forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. Behold I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.”

However, the enemy doesn’t want you to think on God’s love for you, he wants you to think that you are all alone and nobody cares and God loves everybody but you.  He knows that if he can get you to think like that he can get you to feel like that.  His plan is to drain you of your strength and make you feel weak and hopeless.  Your thinking affects how you feel.  Change your thinking and change how you feel.

Instead mediate on the love God has for you.  Think of how God loved you so much  He gave you His Son as surety that every term of the new covenant will be fulfilled in your life (Heb 7:22).  Think of how it please the Father to bruise His Son to save you (Isa 53:10).  Hear his voice saying I love you so much that I given you my only begotten Son.

Abounding In Blessings

Proverbs 28:20
“A faithful man shall abound with blessings; but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.”

The scripture says a faithful man shall abound in blessings.  Faithful to what? Faithful to the word of God.  A person that is faithful to the word shall abound with blessings.

Our faithfulness to service will get us rewards but only the word of God can release the Blessings of God in our lives.  To be faithful to something is to stay with it until the end to go all the way and not give up regardless of any and all adverse situations or circumstance.

Joshua 1:8 says, “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein; for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”  God was telling Joshua to be faithful to the word because it was the word that would bring him good success.  And Jesus said in Matthew 13:23, “but he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.” To get an understand of the word takes meditating upon it, holding it in, turning it over and over, not letting it go regardless of any and all adverse situations or circumstances.  It’s that kind of faithfulness to the word that causes a person to abound in blessings.  Trying to lay hold on the Blessing any other way will only result in your losing what you thought you had to begin with.  Matthew 13:12, “for whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance; but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.”

Sure it may take a little longer to finish when you  slowly digest your food, but it also takes  less to fill you up.  What am I saying?  I’m saying that if you are faithful with just one word from God that one word  will produce a harvest in your life that is exceeding abundantly above all that you can ask or think (Eph 3:20).   You can be faithful to the word of God because God is faithful to His word.
